AIM: To provide financial support to a UK practising radiologist with an interest in breast disease to visit a department outside the UK or to attend an international meeting or course in order to further their experience in breast imaging. Applications are invited from Radiologists, either consultants or post FRCR specialist registrars who have an interest in breast disease, and are members of the Royal College of Radiologists Breast Group.
The bursaries are awarded annually by the executive of the RCR Breast Group and will not normally exceed £1,500 in total value per annum.
The applicant should include:
- A brief CV with details of sessional commitment to breast radiology, together with a list of breast courses attended in the preceding 5 years
- The purpose of the proposed visit with details of the meeting or institution to be visited
- Reasons why a particular course or institution has been chosen for the visit
- Details of the financial support already obtained and that applied for from the Breast Group
A written report of the visit or meeting will be required from successful applicants and should be sent to the RCR Breast Group within 3 months of return. The recipient should also be prepared to make a presentation at the Annual Scientific Meeting.
