CORE TRAINING SURVEY
As many of you may be aware the RCR now has a new curriculum for specialty training which has just been approved by the GMC. This is now available on the RCR website
This applies to all new ST1 trainees from 2010, to ST4 trainees commencing Level 1 & 2 Special Interest training in 2010 and it is recommended that all existing trainees transfer to this by 2012. This is a far more detailed and clinically focussed curriculum than previously and we, the RCRBG, have had considerable input into the breast section
There is a general dearth of information regarding how much breast imaging core (i.e. all junior) trainees are exposed to. To better inform us and to help address any gaps we would be very grateful if each training centre could complete the survey of core training

We would welcome cases with explanatory text to add to the data bank, please send them to trainees@rcrbreastgroup.com so that they may be added. By sending a validated image you are giving permission for this to be added to the picture bank and confirm that all necessary patient permission has been obtained. If x-ray images or ultrasound images are provided, it is recommended that patient data is removed so that they can be placed in the image archive without patient release forms being signed. The source of the image will be acknowledged, so that they can be traced back.
Please also send any important trainee related breast news to the same address
